Back in Luckenbach, TX...

It all started with a roadtrip to one of our favorite spots, Luckenbach, TX.  We try to get down to the Hill Country at least twice a year to take in all the wineries, music, scenery and good food.  On this occasion, Bren and I found ourselves sitting in the back of the old post office in Luckenbach listening to Jimmy Lee Jones, who was once called, "The best kept secret in Texas" by Willie Nelson.  That he was, we were transported back in time to the Old Wild West as he shared stories and strummed on his guitar strings.

Within about thirty minutes, every care I had in the world went out the window and I was sucked into the carefree surroundings.  Time stands still in Luckenbach and everyone has a story to share.  Bren and I started discussing the future and vision for our new business.  I must say some of the best business ventures occur outside the office!

We were bouncing ideas off each other and I finally said mid-sentence, "Twisted Roots."  The name reflects how Bren was born and raised in Arkansas and I was born and raised in Texas, together we make "Twisted Roots."  While we were raised in different states, we both share a vision for creating a shopping experience that is far from ordinary.  There is a little more to that story, but will share with some of you later!

After getting married at Thorncrown Chapel in the Fall of 2008, we knew Eureka Springs would soon become not only our place of business, but our home as well.  We love everything about this community, including the art, food, music and 360 degree breathtaking view of nature.  Very rarely do you come upon a place that captures your soul and leaves you craving more.

With that said, we have renovated a two bedroom home into our livelihood.  There is no other feeling like building your dream from the ground floor.  We hope to see you walk through the doors of Twisted Roots and share our dream that started down a little dirt road in Luckenbach, TX.
